I had previously watched some nice, informative, and FUN nature programs on PBS, for which the presenter was Gerald Durrell! Very well done, too! So when the first Durrells in Corfu series came on, I watched that, too. My great surprise here was that these incredibly human and wonderfully funny episodes are such gems and were written originally as books by Gerald Durrell! Now, when I was in college, many students were reading the works of his brother Lawrence Durrell, and although many of my college age-mates subscribed to the idea that Lawrence is one of the great British authors of, well, let’s say the last century. I can say, from my heart, that Gerald is the better writer, as well as being great in his pursuit in understanding most of nature’s other creatures, and always with an open mind and heart, not to mention his incredible sense of humor, without ever being mean, too critical, or offensive. Rather, these stories are alway delightful, as is the boy playing him, and all the rest of the cast. I hope this series continues, it is utter delight! Please sir, I want some more! I love this show! I hear they are doing a Season 3 and I cannot wait until it comes out. This is such a refreshing non-fiction show written later by the youngest son Gerald. The story line of this family is amusing and entertaining. It’s one of those shows that you hate to see end.-Basha
This series just keeps getting better and better. Looking forward to the third series I understanding they are working on right now. The most interesting and complex characters portrayed as only can re inspired by real lifew. I enjoy every character the series portrays and look forward to what will become of each of them and the episodes go from one to the next.- Thierry
